Customer Question
97 F-250 HD Diesel My truck...
97 F-250 HD Diesel
My truck set for a most of a year as I was deployed overseas, my brakes are very soft and don’t stop right. I have replaced the master cyl and booster. Pulled the front calibers and inspected them and they seem to be working right. I have bleed the system and have clear flowed coming out of the bleeder. The brakes are working the same way as they did before replacing the master cyl and booster. I have very good vacuum at the booster. The truck has rear ABS and when bleeding: I bleed the block under the frame below the booster, back pass, back driver, front pass and front driver in that order.
The peddle will pump up but when held, bleed off and bottom out after a short time, if just pumped once, it will bottom out without pumping.
I am really at my wits end on this and have been working on trucks, cars and old tractors for 40 years. Can you tell me what I am missing here?

Hello, this was a common problem with the ABS valve leaking internally, causing the falling pedal. The link below is an online parts store. Thanks
