2005 Ford Escape: a Theft alarm system that..factory..disconnected

Resolved Question:

I have a 2005 Ford Escape with a Theft alarm system that is factory original. Problem is, it has been triggering for no reason at all, numerous times over the last week or so. Can this system easily be disconnected by myself, or maybe a qualified mechanic?

HiCustomer I am John Mc, a Ford dealer technician.
I hope I can help solve your problem quickly and accurately.

Sorry but this system cannot just be removed. It is an integral part of the engine electronics. It sounds like you may just have a bad transceiver. This is the antenna that gets the code from the key. It is located on the steering column. I would suggest just getting the system scanned to be sure this is the problem. If so repair it and it should be working properly again.
