2001 windstar: speedo, temp, tach, and fuel needlesgo crazy, Bouncing

Resolved Question:

2001 windstar, Once in a while the speedo, temp, tach, and fuel needles
go crazy, Bouncing back and forth sometimes stoping in random spots, and
then going wacky again. Sometimes it will be great for a few days, and
then from out of the blue it's back. It does'nt seem to have any set
pattern, sometimes it's when you start up, then other times it's after
you've been driving for a while. I'm looking for a common link to all
the gauges, maybe a bad or intermittant ground? What do you think?
My wife says it has a demon living in it.

Hello! Welcome to justanswer!

I wouldnt say its a bad ground but a bad instrument cluster. The cluster is only seviceable as one piece. If the ground was bad, all the readings would drop off like you turned the key off then come back if you hit a bump or something like that.
