good morning and thank you for inquiring with JustAnswer. To replace the heater core the dashboard must be removed ,as well as the steering column which in itself takes about 6 hours. There is a shortcut way used in the shop and that consists of removing the glovebox, the right side pillar trim as well as the upper pillar trim and the sill plate trim panel, loosen the dash along the top as well as the 2 large bolts on the side and pull the dash back enough to wedge a large woodblock between the dash and the a pillar body frame to gain access to and remove the temperature blend door motor, then remove the rectangular plastic co ver on the heatercase, remove the heatercore hoses underhood and replace the core. It is much faster that way just restricts and limits the amount of room you have, though it saves 4 hours of work off the repair
