where in a 2002 explorer do you look to find to code to unlock the doors or how do I find out what the code is.

Sometimes you can find a card in the glove box, which is generally in the owners manual pouch. If you cannot find a card then you will have to have your local dealership use a computer to retrieve the door code. The older models used to have the code put on the module itself, but Ford has gone away from this for security reasons. The charge to have the dealership pull the code should be 1/2 hour or less.
