On my 95 Ranger, my windshield wipers stopped working mid swipe. What fuse number controls the wipers and what else could cause this problem?

Are they not working at all or do they work and just stop in the middle when you turn them off?

They are not working. I turned them on and they stopped midway on the first swipe.

Ok before we go into a lot of wire chasing tap the wiper motor to see if it just stuck and will start back up again. If not the fuse is fuse number 16 in the fuse panel. The wiipers also have 2 relays under the hood in that fuse box they are 2 small relays.
