Resolved Question:

1994 Ford Explorer. 4-Wheel drive does not work. push buttons on dash and nothing happens. No lights no noise, nothing. What should I check.

The 4x4 control module is behind the left rear quarter panel and has a button it that you push to perform a self test on the module only, but the shift motors on the t/case go bad an awful lot. Try smacking it with a hammer a few times while someone hits the button, just don't smash it. It will probably go right in after that. But does need replacing.
