Hi there

Today this is a popular way to control the throttle plate on most Ford units and other types of cars ,,,the old system would be a simple steel cable that had one attached to the gas pedal and the other end of the cable secured to the throttle body ,,, when you move the gas pedal the cable would move and open the throttle plate and the engine would rev up ,,,but with electronic throttle control the cable is gone and its all electric ,,,there is sensor on the gas pedal and motor on the throttle plate ,,, when you step on the gas pedal the sensor reads how far you are pushing on it and tells a computer this ,,then the computer sends the proper amount of voltage to the motor on the throttle plate motor and the motor moves to open the throttle plate and the engine revs up
