Already Tried:
checked upper water hoses and one lower water hose

The thermostat is located in the water inlet pipe to the motor. To find the Thermostat, Follow th eupper radiator hose from the radiator to the inlet pipe. The Thermostat is located behind the two bolts hloding the inlet pipe to the motor.

If you have the 2.5L Motor, It should be in the location I gave you. There should be the upper radiator hose that goes into the top of the inlet pipe. Then on the side of the pipe is the heater return hose. There should also be 2 eloectrical connecotrs that go into the housing, These are the ECT Sensors.
