I have a 2001 Ford Windstar that the electric sliding door

on the drver side pops...
I have a 2001 Ford Windstar that the electric sliding door on the drver side pops back open (quite often) when closing it. We can't even get the door to latch with the electric slider turned off at that point. It won't latch. Ideas? We've had the support arms replaced at the dealer and adjustments more than once but this still does it. We have a lemon.

it sounds like you need to have the detent switch replaced, this is the most common cause for the electric sliding doors to kick back, the switch is located on the rear latch of the sliding door, and you might have a latch mechanism problem if the door won't even close with the power turned off to the electric sliding door.

it sounds like your dealer is just "bandaiding " the real problem.

they need to take the door panel off and get into the latch mechanism and check out all the rods,cables,and switches.
