HiCustomer Thank you for asking your question on Just Answer.

There is no number on the engine, it in the VIN ( vehicle Id number) on the tag on the door or the top of the left hand top of dash.

The Vin code U is not Flex fuel The vin code V is flex fuel. It will be the 8th letter in the VIN number.

Reply to Ron's Post: i am buying a 3.0 VIN-V from a dismantler and i want to make sure it is a flex motor as the motor they are selling is supposed to be a flex fuel VIN -V but how do you know ? if its not in the truck it came out of.
Expert:  Ron replied 8 years ago.
About the only thing you can do is have then show you the truck it came from as the motor isnt marked. If its a V its a flex fuel engine. There are no number on the engine's. The engines are the same except for the electronics.
