Hello earlymom,

The code 52 can be set by a blown fuse in the under hood fuse panel (drivers side) Check to be sure the #2 fuse and makes sure you have 12 volts on both sides of it. You need to be sure the charging system is charging at the proper rate as well as low voltage will set this code. Normal charging on the truck at idle is 14.2 volts.

the fuse is good and there is 14.2 volts. the light blinks 5 times then 2 times. then it comes on and stays on. I disconnected the negative battery cable for 24 hours but it didn't do anything.

Yes this was I was afraid of as air bag are not easy to diag and can be dangerous if not done right (setting the air bag off) Sometimes for a repair like this one you may need a seasoned professional.

What is an NGS tester and where can I get one? Also even if I had one where do I get the info on using it to find the problem?
Expert:  Ron replied 9 years ago.
An NGS tester is a Ford scan tool. This concern is something you might want to take to the dealer as it is complicated.
