The common problem is the deactivation switch . ford has an open recall for this switch. If you get me your vin I can see if your car still has the recall. If so its a free fix.

Your car doesnt have the recall. Go ahead and pop the hood and under the cowl on the drivers side is the master cylinder .Disconect this switch and see if there is any brake fluid leaking into the connector.
