1998 jeep cherokee sport: starter is back to a repair shop

This answer was rated:

1998 jeep cherokee sport won''t start- starter is broken. we would like to get it home today (sunday). Anyway we can start it for today and get it back to a repair shop?

hello there,

If it has a manual transmission of course you should be able to push start it

If its an automatic, all you can do it tap on the starter with a hammer while trying to crank it over, sometimes this makes the starter work a few more times. If you get nothing thats the way its going to be and will need to be towed!

Sorry I know you did not want to hear that.. Glenn
