ford F-150 FX4: replacing the center shifter cap..old one

Customer Question

I have a ford F-150 FX4 super-crew. I am replacing the center shifter due to the chrome cap falling off. I have already bought the part (4L3Z 7213 BA) but for some reason the old one will not come off. I am under the impression that you pull out the chrome push button because thats how the new one came in the box. Just not sure how to get the rest of the shifter off. Please help me!!

I already found this answer on line. I was hoping that you had an answer for my particular truck. The bottom bezel does not move!! So this answer does not help me.

O.k. I will reopen the question for another expert, thanks

This answer never helped me! I ended up taking my truck to Ford to get it fixed. Please stop sending me e-mails asking me for feedback, because the answer was not even for my truck.
