No heat. Coolant is good, I have even hot temp fluids

Customer Question
Coolant is good, I...

Coolant is good, I have even hot temp fluids flowing thru hoses.

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your Lincoln?

'07 mkx

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your MKX yourself? What have you tried so far?

Yes I'm trying too. And I took it in for maybe a flush, but mechanic said of the hoses are same temp then it is not the core. And more likely the door flap, and that requires to pull off dash.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

No, think that is it.

Hello my name is ***** ***** welcome to just answers! I will be assisting you with all of your vehicle questions today. Give me one moment while I review your question and come back with a answer. Please be aware I do not know your skill level or abilities so I will be asking a lot of questions and in a lot of cases we will respond to each other quite a lot before we find a solution. As far as phone calls are concerned that is the system prompting you, not me, and they do cost more money, I prefer text but in some cases a phone call is required. If I don’t answer right away or quickly in conversation I am helping another customer or have stepped out for a moment and will respond as soon as I can. Ok lets get started!

Your mechanic is right, I would first try a reset on the vehicle, this is done by remove the negative battery cable then positive, touch both terminal ends together wait 1 min and then 15 more, re install positive then negative cable and test drive again.

I understand, I'm taking off the cables and touching them together? Not holding them together?
Lincoln Mechanic: Mechanic01, ASE Certified Technician replied 8 months ago

hold the ends together for atleast 1 min and wait 15 more with them off
