Mechanic replaced back brakes yesterday, Said there was

Customer Question

Mechanic replaced back brakes yesterday, Said there was uneven wear on the two wheels and I needed to "flash" my brake sensors, meaning re-boot the computer controls on the back brakes. Can I do that or does it need a mechanice?
JA: Which particular sensor are you asking about? And have any trouble codes been triggered?
Customer: No codes have been triggered that I know of. Just that there was uneven wear between one wheel back brake and the other.
JA: What is the model/year of your Lincoln?
Customer: 2011 Lincoln MKX
JA: Are you fixing your MKX yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I was going to take it to the dealer or a mechanic. But then online I saw there was discussion of how a driver can reset some of his car's computer. I am also having problems with my back up camera and clock
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

Reflashing is done with a diagnostic scan tool and software, which means it has to be done at a shop. It is usually a 1/2 hour to 1 hour labor charge.
