my 1998 Lincoln town car cartier the motor behind the glovebox runs all the time I have a code of 24 and 81
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?
Customer: thecodes are 24 and 81 and yeah
JA: Are you fixing your Town Car yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yeah I have the glove box out to see the motor it turns all the time
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

24 is for the Blend door actuator and 81 is for the recirculation door actuator.

If the actuator is constantly clicking when the key is on, it will need to be replaced. It has plastic gears in it and when they fail, the gears keep jumping the teeth on the other gear causing the clicking noise. The recirculation door actuator is not that hard to replace. The blend door actuator is a lot harder because the dash has to be pulled away from the firewall to replace it. See the links below.
