I am trying to replace a headlight bulb on my 2006 Lincoln

Customer Question

I am trying to replace a headlight bulb on my 2006 Lincoln town car. I have removed the light housing. Then I removed the black plastic ring (shield). Now I cannot get the new bulb and the black plastic ring back in to snap in place. The bulb just fits loosely, but when I try to turn the black ring it will not fit down far enough to hold it in place. Any suggestions.
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: Riders side, middle of the 3 headlights.
JA: Are you fixing your Town Car yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I am trying to replace this middle light bulb myself and have the assembly all apart.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: No

Make sure the bulb is in the proper position and fully seated to allow the lock ring to insert properly. See the diagrams below.
