It wont charge the battery. The check charging system light came on the battery went dead I thought it was a bad alternator so I replaced it with a new one. Still not charging the battery
JA: Have you checked the battery's voltage?
Customer: Yes I put a brand new battery in it ran fine but the check charging system did not go out an once it drained the new battery i was right back in the same situation.
JA: What is the model/year of your Lincoln?
Customer: 2004 Navigator
JA: Are you fixing your Navigator yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Replaced the alternator Replaced the battery both brand new.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

The voltage regulator has to be bad which is located as part of the computer system.

You need to have a scan tool attached to the system to confirm this.
