2013 MKX, rear windows won't go down. The only way it will

Customer Question

2013 MKX, rear windows won't go down. The only way it will is with either engine on or auxiliary power on & no one seated in drivers seat?!?!?
JA: Is this your first time dealing with this issue?
Customer: Yes, it just started Friday.
JA: Are you fixing your MKX yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Well if I can I will fix myself. Thought originally I'd hit the child safety lock, that wasn't it. Tried it with & without the engine on. Finally tried the standing outside with door open & they worked up & down. My concern is they'll go down & then not up again, live in Northeast & winters coming!
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: This is a used car for me since April. So I'm not all that familiar with all the computer "comfort" settings etc. Are there other idiosyncrasies I should be aware of? Had a 2007 MKX which I loved!!!

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose), my normal schedule online is around lunch and after dinner past midnight.

I can help get the windows up now if you would like.

Does the drivers seat need to be empty or just the drivers door open?

The front nor rear switches will control the rear windows with the doors closed?

With the front door open, do the rear switches work?

Hello again Chris here,

  • Sorry you were not pleased with my help.
  • What would you like to do regarding your question now.
  • This post is coming up on the 7 day mark where it times out. When a post times out, that means it's no longer on my active list (you reply and I may never know it.)

Thanks Chris
