2003 aviator shift stuck in park and button pressed in is stuck. Cant shift into drive, and parked on a hill facing down. Help

Hi. THe frst thing you want to do is to make sure the brake lights are working. If they are not the vehicle will not shift out of park. If all the weight of the vehicle is on the parking pawl of the transmission, then you may have to pull really hard on the shifter to remove it from park. Can you try that?
