I've changed everything from thermostat housing assembly to coils to even radiator flush but etc engine fail safe mode still comes up after running the car.I have an 03 ls

If you have the 8 cylinder 3.9L there is a cylinder head temp sensor that can go bad. It is under the intake manifold on the passenger side head.

I have seen these sensor go bad after the engine running hot and some just fail under normal engine operation.
