We have a couple codes and number 8 cylinder Miss runs

Customer Question

We have a couple codes and number 8 cylinder Miss runs poorly will not make over 25 miles an hour. I did a compression test on that cylinder 60 PSI. Fuel pump pressure 28 pounds. Did an injector driver test find. I am suspecting that it might have an intake manifold leaking and possibly the fuel pump pressure sensor on a fuel rail maybe bad doesn't have it a vacuum type fuel pressure regulator. Pulled the plugs out has Platinum plugs they are pretty much wore out.
JA: Leaks can get messy. The Lincoln Mechanic will know what to do. Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: Well I hope so I'm an ase-certified mechanic. Customer brought this in yesterday just working late tonight trying to get caught up.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Lincoln Mechanic should know about your Lincoln?
Customer: 165000 miles on it
JA: Our top Lincoln Mechanic is ready to take your case. Just pay the $5 fully refundable deposit and I'll fill the Lincoln Mechanic in on everything we've discussed. You can go back and forth with the Lincoln Mechanic until you're 100% satisfied. We guarantee it.

  1. Can I get the year, make, model, and engine?
  2. Do you recall all code numbers?
  3. Did you try a wet compression test to see if it would come up from 60 psi?
  4. Did you check other cylinders to see if there compression was much better?
