I have a 2000 town car with brake light switch and melting

Customer Question

I have a 2000 town car with brake light switch and melting wires what is a fix for this so it does not happen again. the wires are too short now and replaced switch three times.
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: after connector melted used fast wire connectors and replaced switch would last about 200 miles or about two weeks. I read replacing the wire harness with a heavrier wire works and some times not. Iwent to our local Lincoln dealer and the never heard about this happening also would not work on it because they would only replace all wiring and cost too much. car has 17500 miles
JA: OK got it. Last thing — Lincoln Mechanics generally expect a deposit of about $18 to help with your type of question (you only pay if satisfied). Now I'm going to take you to a page to place a secure deposit with JustAnswer. Don't worry, this chat is saved. After that, we will finish helping you.
