That is correct. The unit is brand new and still under the full warranty.

it is a wonderful piece and we enjoy it....the pedal started to creak a week after we had it but we could live with that but the colt breaking meant it is unuseablewhat happens next?

Ok. So I did some looking around and frankly, I suggest doing this through Amazon (I take it you purchased it through Amazon)?

Exerpuetic isn't exactly coming up like say Nordictrack so working directly with them might prove difficult.

However Amazon is great. The only issue is that in order to get you the replacement bolt, they may end up sending you a whole new bike. But that would be the way I would go. You can chose to pull out the bolt that's broken and leave the rest in the box. Who knows, they might not even want you to ship the damaged bike back.

You should speak to someone at Amazon but judging by how they typically deal with items that are broken (replace and return), you make end up getting way more than just one bolt. That said, they may put you directly in touch with the manufacturer.

I will be honest, I am completely removed from billing and Amazon. I am just here to help people with their stuff. If you want to reach out to Just Answer's support, you can reach them at***@******.***.

But as this is a warranty issue, I would speak with someone at Amazon and also enquire why you had to pay $XX to order a replacement bolt. You can say that you spoke withCustomerat JustAnswer.com and that I confirmed you need a new bolt.

Don't be sorry. The support system likely presumed you had a technical issue with your new purchase and processed your request in this manner. It happens from time to time. Good luck and if you end up with a second bike to replace your bolt, I hope they let you keep it.
