Pedals stuck on an old Schwinn recumbent purchased in 2002.

I set the repair project aside for a while, but have returned to it. (JustAnswer automatically charges me each month, which is a bit of incentive.)I'm behind the times in that--if I want digital photos--I have to borrow a phone that does that. I'm usually quite happy with one of the less advanced phones, although they're bring phased out.So, I'll write a description. Sorry re: lack of photos.The left side plastic cowling is finally off, revealing the interior of the bike.The chain appears to be intact.The fabric belt that's supposed to go around the main wheel also appears to be intact. (It's not wrapped around the wheel, providing tension as it should be, but it's not damaged as far as I can tell.)DAMAGE: the spring has broken that once spanned the distance between the eyelet at the end of the fabric belt and the end of the tension control. (This is the end of the tension control that's farthest from the operator, and usually hidden far down within the interior of the bike.)QUESTION: it looks as if all I have to do is to connect the grommet/ eyelet/ hole at the end of the fabric strap to the end of the tension-cord via a replacement spring while the fabric strap is in position against the large wheel. Once this repair is done, I expect the tension should change as I turn the tension control wheel, since this would slacken or tighten the fit of the belt against the wheel. Assuming my reverse-engineering is accurate, which part number should I order for a replacement spring? If not from Schwinn, then from which catalog?The bike's insides appear to be intact apart from the pulled-apart and broken-off spring.end]
