That symptom could mean either, A. your trainer's console is 'broken', or B. the power supply's +5 V. line is off spec., locking up (and perhaps also damaging) the digital circuitry in the console.
Whether the case is (B) would be diagnosed by simple measurement, under load and during operation / while On, with a voltmeter, to see whether the +5 is actually below roughly 4.6 V. or above roughly 5.39 V.
If the console, that's (regrettably) either a part that is hard to find, or one that costs several hundred dollars.
