We have an ProForm PT 6.0 treadmill that is roughly 12-15

Customer Question

Good afternoon Pearl!
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: We have an ProForm PT 6.0 treadmill that is roughly 12-15 years old.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Our present issue is the treadmill will operate just fine while keeping down the speed. Once the speed is turned up to running speed, or about 6.0 it just shuts down after a few seconds. This has been going on for awhile.
JA: Anything else you want the equipment expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I have tried to voltage meter to read output to see if there were any spikes in electricity and I did not find any. I have lubed to belt a few times to reduce friction and nothing has worked. The treadmill is great and I need is functional, I am just not sure what part to replace?

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

Have you checked the tension of the running belt?

It should be adjusted so as to be just tight enough not to slip when run upon, and no tighter. Tighter belts stress the system, burn out motors eventually, and can produce other problems.

That's the first thing to make sure of in a situation like this.
