Hey-- I'm the original owner of a NordicTrack 8600 CTL49021,

Customer Question

Hey-- I'm the original owner of a NordicTrack 8600 CTL49021, about 400 hours operating time. Several months ago the belt stopped turning, but the console readout would indicate speed and distance, as though it was turning. Incline worked fine. Had a repairman come out and he fixed it within 5 minutes. I wasn't here, so I don't know exactly what he did, but I don't believe he had to replace any parts. Now, once again, the treadmill is not working, displaying the exact same symptoms as before, but my repair guy hasn't returned any of my calls after 6 weeks. Wanted to give it a shot myself. Any suggestions?

Hi there!
The belt may be slipping, or there may be a problem with the motor.
Try adjusting the belt tension to see if there is any improvement.
If that does not help, then you will need to test the voltage getting to the motor and check if it is turning normally.
