I'd be happy to help. I will just need to ask you a couple of questions, if it's ok:
1) Does it only skip when you are at an incline? Does it ever skip when you are level?
2) It's 15 years old, but how often do you lubricate it? Have you ever had to replace the walking deck and or walking belt?
3) What exactly do you mean, the "inner brush" flashes when the machine hesitates? Are you talking about a slight flash inside the motor itself? Along the armature??
4) Did you happen to see any black powder or residue near the motor's armature or do you smell anything like plastic or rubber down there when it happens?
