VerifiedThe magnet should never touch the wheel, this is strictly a magnetic resistance set-up. It sounds as if the potentiometer in the tension motor may have broke in transit allowing it to perform poorly. I would contact this link and get a tech to replace the tension motor for you. It is under warranty and they will send a tech to your house to do it.
