Does the computer work like its supposed to?

Does it take batteries? If the computer works fine, and changes resistance like it should and acts normally, then your (engine) which is called a dc motor or brake motor or tension er motor is bad and needs to be replaced.

Try fresh batteries if it takes them

otherwise those are your two components that will be your culprit

I am located in the us and do not know of anyone here who would ship parts overseas

you may have to contact the manufacturer or a local fitness store for parts

Both parts are easy to replace yourself if you have some hand tools

it's powered by an adapter, not baterries - the computer works fine

Ok then your motor needs to be replaced

Thats the small motor that pushes the magnet away from the flywheel

Its easy to replace just unplug the wire and unscrew the motor.
