Verified- motors can be expensive on some machines.
- You could have a bad motor or roller follow the directions below to diagnose
- remove the motor hood and look inside to locate the sound.
- I would repair the machine only if it is economical and doesn't cost %40 of a new one
- you don't need to oil anything because this machine contains sealed bearings.
It could be the front roller has a bad bearing in it. What you would need to do is when it is making the grinding sound place a long handled screwdriver tip on a non-moving part of the roller and place your ear on the back of the handle. You should be able to hear if the bearing is bad(it will be louder transmitting through the screwdriver). It is also a possibility that the motor could have a bad bearing as well. You can do the same thing with the motor or unhook the belt and just run the motor to see if it is it.
- performance lube from treadmilldoctor.com for the walking deck and lithium for pivot points.
- the stationary part of the roller is where the screw goes through. It is the axle.
- it will amplify the squeak more so on the bad part then any other part you will place the screwdriver on
- if there is a pivot on the motor you can release the drive belt or just work it off and then work it back on to replace if there is no pivot on the motor.
