VerifiedIt sound to me like you may have a ribbon off the buttons inside the console.
Your buttons are a film that has a contact in them which is connected by a thin ribbon into the console board. I would start there and pull each one out and replace evenly in the slot. If this does not work, you may need to replace the overlays(buttons).
If the console is lighting up and only the buttons aren't working this is the first thing I would try. Before replacing any parts, I would also follow the wire harness from the console to the boards below and make sure each plug is firmly in place and test for broken wires.
Also, I am assuming you have placed the magnetic key on it as well while testing (I figured I better say that in case). Hopefully this helps !
