I've got a Cherokee rifle, cap lock (percussion) style

Customer Question

I've got a Cherokee rifle, cap lock (percussion) style trigger, never fired, the hammer is very hard to draw back, is spring tension adjustable? And the set trigger works, but hangs loose when not in use.

Good afternoon,

Sounds like you may want to take the gun to a gunsmith to have it checked out. I believe that spring tension can be adjusted on that, but again that is something that a gunsmith may want to look at in person. Sometimes, adjustments can be made and sometimes, an adjustment can affect the rifle mechanically. Do you have a local gunsmith that you use, or can I help you find one?
