Your gun was made in the 1954-1955 time frame.

The Browning Auto-5 Lightweight (Light 12 and Light 20) was introduced in 12 gauge in 1947 and in 20 gauge in 1958. (The 20 gauge brings a 40% premium on the values below.) It is recoil operated semi-automatic shotgun and comes with a 26, 28, or 30 inch barrel, various chokes, has a gold-plated trigger, a checkered pistol grip stock with either a round knob before 1967 or a flat knob until 1976. Auto-5 shotguns that were made before 1976 were produced by FN.
