The mortgage insurance will pay off the mortgage on my moms house if she her death is axadentle. She fell at night. Hit her head fracture her skull. Few months late had a stoke caused from that fall. Would that be a axadentle death.

Accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) coverage only pays a benefit if death results from a covered accident or upon the loss (or loss of use) of a limb. In contrast, coverage is broader with life insurance. Life insurance policies pay death benefits upon the death of the insured, despite how the death occurred.

Although unexpected, a stroke is considered a natural cause of death and is, therefore, excluded from AD&D coverage. There is one exception to this exclusion. If the stroke was precipitated by the accident, most AD&D policies will pay the stated benefit. For example, if an insured, with no underlying issues, has a stroke immediately after the accident and subsequently dies, the policy will pay.
