How do I remove bad information from my credit report

Customer Question

How do I remove bad information from my credit report without paying the debts. I know of people who have done it were it comes off the credit report, but they still owe the debt?

The only way you can do that is if the debt is not legitimate. Also, after a certain number of years (usually 7, but 10 in some forms of accounts like bankruptcy accounts) the debt falls off automatically. You can also negotiate with the lender directly, but most will not take the record off your report.

Please let me know if you need anything additional. If not, please rate positive.

How do all these people remove legitimate debts from their reports by dispiting?

They contact the lender directly, and it's up to the lender's discretion. Major lenders will not, but some third party or smaller lenders will in exchange for their money.
