I usually work at those business locations when I perform work. Am I able to write off the mileage to from the house to the businesses?

Dear Friend,

Hello and welcome. Thank you for providing an opportunity to assist you.

Yes, you will be able to write off that expense. Your business is located at Place A and while you live at Place B, you may be required to "legitimately" travel between these two places to discharge your day to day business operations. This entitles you to deduct mileage.

If you use your car in your business, you can deduct car expenses. If you use your car for both business and personal purposes, you must divide your expenses based on actual mileage. Refer to Publication 463 for this.

I am sure this would help.

You may please leave a positive rating if this helps as this is the only way we are compensated for assisting you. Alternatively, you may revert back with a reply if you need further assistance or if I have missed out on any aspect of your question.

Warm Regards,
