Child support. I have a Daughter who just turned 12 and we
Hello, I have a Daughter who just turned 12 and we reside in the state of NJ. In 2015 I had left my ex (Daughters Father) and he retaliated by using the court system against me. Got me fired from my job after taking me to court for child support, where he showed a fake pay stub showing that I made more than him. Therefore I have had to pay child support with out being able to afford to. I stopped paying a couple of time because I was on unemployment while trying to find a new place to live and a new job. I finally in 2016 when my Son was born under the impression that my ex was going to make good on his word and write to the Burlington Court to have it modified. He never did. In 2017 I filed for a modification but my ex refused to hand over his finances before the time allowed and I was denied the adjustment. I now have my wages being garnished by $81.00 a week ($40.00 for the arrears, $41.00 for current) and can not afford to pay my bills. My ex and I have 50/50 custody of my Daughter and I have PR. The state withheld the stimulus check also. Before Covid I filed again for a modification and was up for a Triennial Review but again no financial information was turned over before the 10 days approached and I was denied again. I did not have my Daughter Birth Cert on me and asked for more time but they just denied me. I can not afford an attorney and really need someone to help. My ex lied to the courts and I can not afford to keep paying this or I will loose my apartment, my car and I have two kids. I work full time and am a full time college student at Purdue University Global so I cannot loose my internet. Please Help! … read more
