This has to do with a custody order in VA. Mother.
Situation: My son's mother, if you recall, wanted to “go back to what the court order states and nothing more” just before Thanksgiving. That being said, we had established, via text, that I would be picking up my son on Dec. 26th at 8am and returning him to her on Jan. 2nd at 5pm as the order states, and she agreed with the response of “that's fine, if that is what the papers say.” Now she is offering to drop him off on Dec. 26th on her way to Orlando, then pick him back up on Jan. 5th on her way home, or I can drop him off on Jan. 2nd with her parents.Options as I see them: 1. Pick up Alex in person on Dec. 26th at 8am and have her pick him up on her return trip on Jan. 5th 2. Pick up Alex in person on Dec. 26th at 8am and go to return him on Jan. 2nd, but refuse to turn him over to her parents as that is not what is stated on the court order, and return home on Jan. 2nd and have her pick him up on her return trip on Jan. 5th 3. Have her drop off Alex on her way to Orlando on Dec. 26th and then have her pick him up on Jan. 5th 4. Pick up Alex on Dec. 26th and then drop off on Jan. 2nd with her parentsMy son's mother was very adamant about going back to exactly what the court order states, no more, no less. If I pick him up, then I would be fulfilling exactly what the order states. If I let her drop him off then I am not doing my part of the order. On return, if I drop him off with her parents on Jan. 2nd, that is not in the court order. If I wait for her to pick him up on Jan. 5th, that also is not in the court order. If you would assist me in which direction to go. If it makes any difference, this is her annual party trip to Orlando which is why she is up for allowing Alex to spend a few more days then the court order states.… read more
