Hi and welcome to JA. Ray here to help you today. Please bear with me a few moments while I review your question and respond.

Ask Your Own Family Law Question

You would need to file a petition for name change here in Texas to get the name legally changed.

Forms to do that is pretty simple, you will have one short hearing in front of the judge and he grants it.

https://texaslawhelp.org/form/petition-change-name-adult

Step by step and you may want to use this one because you can edit it online

I appreciate the chance to help you today. Thanks

If you can positive rate 5 stars it is much appreciated,

The judge will ask you about it buts been along time so it is not likely relevant at this point. But he will ask here.
