I got married on 16th May, 2016 in Fort worth, TX. My
Hello, This is Priyanka. I got married on 16th May, 2016 in Fort worth, TX. My husband moved to Houston in June, 2016. I was still living in FL due to my work visa. I moved to Houston, TX in August, 2016. We start living together. My husband was very verbal abusive and gave me mental torture. In November, I went to India for wedding ceremony as I am from there. My husband crosses all limits in December, 2016 and gave me very much hard time. In between, I consulate immigration attorney and family lawyer to find reason for his behavior. I went to clinical psychologist as well and I thought to do some marriage counselling but my husband denied for that. On 22nd January, 2017, he did unlawful restraint and police came, he went to jail and his case was dismissed on 9th Feb, 2017. I am still waiting for my work visa approval as green card file will be revoked soon due to divorce process. His parents are pushing for divorce as he is going for another marriage to whom he was loving earlier, and his father mentioned in the phone that they wanted an Indian girl so they push him to marry me and now he is going to marry an American girl. This time I want to go slowly and with understanding, so I need guidance to proceed further wisely. My queries are as follows. 1. What can I demand in this case? 2. How should I claim that they will pay my lawyer fees? 3. Can I demand alimony of 20000-30000? 4. When can I stop our joint account and mobile bill account? 5. Can I give him divorce without seeing or meeting him? What will be the procedure for that? 6. What should I do if I want to apply divorce from Florida? 7. What should I do to wait till July and how can I send notice to wait till July? (it will be 6 months in FL in July, and I do not want to travel to Houston, so what should I do for that?) 8. What if they prepare documents for divorce and send to me? How can I respond to that notice? 9. Can my lawyer respond to that notice? 10. Can I lawyer from FL proceed to delay it once I receive papers from them? my questions are as follows kindly conncet me with a best family lwyer … read more
