The answer to your question is yes, you can quit your job and collect unemployment while living with your husband in North Carolina. However, there are some things that you have to consider. In the state of New Jersey, if you simply quit your job, you will not be eligible for unemployment. To qualify for unemployment, you have to have been separated from your employment through no fault of your own. this is not a hard-and-fast rule, and many times the state will take a lot of situations under consideration.Generally, the state will consider something like your situation to be for good cause. According to the state of New Jersey, "Good cause connected with the work," means that your reason for leaving must be directly related to your job and be so compelling that you had no choice but to leave the job. if you can prove that your husband has been sick and that there is no one else to take care of him, then you may be able to collect unemployment in move in with him.
