How do I sue my mother and depervation of character?

Customer Question

How do I sue my mother for slander and depervation of character?

Good morning. Defamation consists of the following:

(1) a defamatory statement;
(2) published to third parties; and
(3) which the speaker or publisher knew or should have known was false.

As such you need to show that these elements are present/met and damages were suffered, if you want to sue. This would be a civil matter, so you would need to file a lawsuit against her to recover.
