If I won a settlement in court fees from my ex. Could I go

Customer Question

If I won a settlement in court for lawyers fees from my ex. Could I go after her current husband for the settlement? They got married 3 months after the settlement and do not share a bank account. Is he responsible for her debt under community law? She is a stay at home mom since the marriage. We all live in Arizona which is a community property sate.

I do not think you would prevail on any legal action against her new husband who was not a party to the agreement. However, pursuing it against her would certainly put pressure on him to help her pay it off just to get his wife out of trouble.
