Forgot to mail in marriage license 10 days after the wedding

forgot to mail in marriage license 10 days after the wedding in California, but it has only been 16 days after wedding. Is this still legal?

In CA, the failure to mail in the license return 10 days after the wedding does NOT invalidate the marriage and the marriage is still considered legal. You need to mail in the license. It was the person who solemnized the marriage who had the legal duty to mail it in. However, the law also says that failure to mail in the license would not invalidate the marriage.
