I am married and live in fl. I owe 10,000 in medical bills. I have not made any money in 2012 or 2013 and I am self employeed. I have medical insurance and my husband does not. Can they sue or hurt my husbands credit. He is employeed. I was under the notion that I am soley responsible for bills

Since Florida is not a community property state, your spouse must typically sign an agreement with the creditor or provider before he could normally be held liable in court for debts you incur in your own name. This means that your spouse would not typically be held liable for debts you have incurred, even during the marriage.
