Customer Question

My brother passed away on March 27,2012. He did not leave a will but did leave a durable power of attorney appointing me as his executor. His estate is worth less than $10000 and he owns no cars, jewelry, real estate or other property except clothes and tools. He verbally indicated prior to his death that his son should get everything. He died in Bloomington, Indiana, Monroe county. As executrix, what I am required to do regarding his outstanding utility bills, and debts? Thank you.

InformationForYou :

Powers of attorney terminate upon a death.

Your answer is unacceptable. I already knew this. I have sent a termination request to your email address. You did no answer any of the questions I asked about being an executrix.

InformationForYou :

I am happy to answer the questions about being an executorix. You'd said you were appointed in a power of attorney.

If you want me to answer the questions about the debts, I will. If you would rather me not, please let me know.
